Biography

Peter Mansell was the bassist and sometime backing vocalist for the British rock band Pulp.

He was an active member of the band between January 1984 and November 1986 appearing on all the recordings during this period. The only full length LP he recorded with the band was Freaks. The bulk of the rest of his input can be heard on the 1994 compilation Masters of the Universe.

He was the boyfriend of Pulp keyboardist Candida Doyle from the mid-80's to the early '00s. Despite this, he left the group along with Candida's brother Magnus Doyle (the group's drummer at the time) in late '86.

At the 1996 BRIT awards, He and Cocker invaded the stage in protest during Michael Jackson's performance of "Earth Song".

He receives a songwriting check on the track Sunrise from the band's final album We Love Life.
